Arnold Ross Takes Over as Men’s Volleyball Coach

NEW YORK, NY – Athletic Director Joe Bednarsh announced today the hiring of Arnold Ross as the new head Men's Volleyball coach.  Arnold will remain the assistant coach of the women's team, and Roxanne Prendergast (head women's coach) will help as an assistant on the men's team.

Arnold graduated from Mount Saint Vincent in 2008, where he played on the men's volleyball team for all 4 years.  Prior to his college years, he was a 4-year captain of the Maine Junior Olympics Team and a two year member of the Maine State Volleyball Association.

While playing at MSV, Arnold was part of a team that was ranked as high as 9th in the nation in 2004, and second in the ECAC's.  In his senior year, the team was the Hudson Valley Champions, and he was named to the 2nd team All-Skyline.  Arnold was also a two year captain of the team from 2006-2008.  He currently plays in the New York Urban Professionals League.

“Arnold Ross has proven himself to be an excellent teacher and coach,” commented Joe Bednarsh.  “He has been instrumental in the development of the women's volleyball team and I have no doubt he will bring to the men's team the same structure and skill development that has become his trademark.”

The men's volleyball team will play their first game on January 24th, when they host York College at 1PM.
