NEW YORK, NY – The Hudson Valley Men’s Athletics Conference announced this morning that David Kahana has been named the Player of the Week. It is the first week that the award has been given out this season. The Macs have started the season strongly at 8-5 overall.
Kahana recorded three double-doubles during the week, while averaging 4.4 kills and 6.3 digs per set. Yeshiva defeated NYU-Poly 3-1 (30-23, 30-24, 27-30, 30-24) and then Cooper Union 3-1 (30-20, 30-20, 30-32, 30-23) the next night. They then went to Sage College and lost 3-2 (28-30, 30-27, 30-19, 18-30, 12-15) to close out the week. David’s best match this past week was against Sage where he recorded 22 kills, 36 digs, and had 1 ace.
The Maccabees already defeated Purchase College this week 3-0 (30-24, 30-23, 30-23). They have only one other match during the week, which is tonight against St. Joseph’s Brooklyn. The game is being played at Brooklyn Technical High School at 8PM.
