Elie Baratz Takes Home Rookie of the Week Honors

NEW YORK, NY – The Skyline Conference announced yesterday the weekly baseball award winners and Yeshiva’s Elie Baratz was selected as the Rookie of the Week. This award marks the first time since Yeshiva joined the conference in 2007 that a Maccabee was selected for a weekly award. The right fielder began his career with a 3-3 performance against CCNY on Sunday.
In the game, Baratz finished a homerun short of the cycle. He tripled in the first inning, and walked in the third (later scoring). In the Yeshiva half of the 4th inning, he doubled in a run but was stranded on third. He singled in the 7th and then stole second, later scoring his second run of the game. All told, he finished with a 3-3 performance, 2RBI, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base.
