NEW YORK, NY – Senior outside hitter
David Kahana was selected to the Skyline All-Conference First Team which was announced by the conference office at the beginning of the week. The Macs made the conference tournament as the 3rd seed but fell to Bard 3-1. They later went on to win the Hudson Valley Conference Championship.
Kahana had a great season for the Maccabees, leading the team in kills, service aces, and digs (345, 24, 342). He finished with a .287 hitting percentage in the 88 games played. He was once voted the conference's Player of the Week and made the Honor Roll on three different occasions.
In the conference, David's .287 hitting percentage ranks second overall, while his 3.92 kills per game and 3.89 digs per game puts him 3rd and 2nd respectively. As a team, the Macs have the best overall hitting percentage in the conference at .228.
Also announced with the All-Conference teams was the Sportsmanship Award, which went to Yeshiva. The Award is based on the sportsmanship of the athletes, coaches, and fans of the receiving school for the season.
