NEW YORK, NY – Three seniors were selected from Yeshiva University to represent the men's volleyball team on the HVMAC All-Conference team, recently announced by the conference office. Captains
Jack Voystock and
Raphael Herskovits, along with
Naftali Rosenthal, were named to the 9-person team. This is the second consecutive year that Herskovits and Voystock were named to the All-Conference team.
The team finished the season with an undefeated (7-0) record in conference play, and a 13-18 overall record this season. The Macs defeated Webb Institute 3-0 in the HVMAC semifinals before falling to the defending champion Cooper Union Hawks in the finals held at Sarah Lawrence. Since 2010, the first year that volleyball became an HVMAC sport, the Macs have been to all 3 championships, winning the inaugural one in 2010. All three championship games have pitted Yeshiva against Cooper Union.
Despite a mid-season marriage that kept
Raphael Herskovits out from a few games, he led the team in kills with 228. That averaged out to 3.12 per game. He has finished with a .213 attack percentage. Herskovits was second on the team in digs with 172 (2.36 per game) and third in blocked shots with 33 (.45 per game).
Jack Voystock was second on the team in kills with 164, averaging out to 1.71 per game. He added 26 blocked shots and 35 service aces this season. The 2012 season marked Jack's third stint as a team captain for the Macs.
Naftali Rosenthal rounded out Yeshiva's All-Conference selections, having the third highest kills on the team with 129 (1.39 per game). Rosenthal had the least attack errors of the top 2 attackers and ended with a .135 attack percentage. He added 33 blocked shots this season along with 22 service aces.
