NEW YORK - The Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) announced its All Met Division III Women's College Basketball teams Friday (April 5), and Yeshiva University junior student-athlete,
Rebecca Yoshor (Houston, Texas) earned a spot on the Second Team for her efforts in a Maccabees uniform this winter.
The 80th NIT/MBWA Haggerty Awards Dinner is scheduled for April 15 at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, N.Y.
Yoshor, who became the first female student-athlete at YU to garner Capital One Academic All-America (second team) accolades this season, is now believed to be the first All Met selection on the women's side in program history.
Yoshor led Yeshiva in scoring (16.7 ppg), rebounding (14.8 rpg), blocked shots (42; 2.21/gm.) and field-goal percentage (.449), registering 17 double-doubles in her 19 outings. She ended the season ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division III in rebounding, No. 9 in total double-doubles (one of just two players nationally ranked to reach the feat in all but two contests), 43rd in blocked shots, and Nos. 79 and 99 in scoring and field-goal percentage, respectively.
In a two-year collegiate career thus far in which she has earned Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) All-Conference kudos in each campaign, Yoshor has compiled 32 double-doubles in 37 contests, scored 623 points (16.8/gm.) and pulled down 543 caroms (14.7/gm.).
