NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are a pair of captains; senior shortstop
Shmuli Goldis of the baseball team, and junior catcher
Sarah Hiller of the softball team.
Goldis produced a .381 batting average with seven runs scored and six runs batted this past week. The Hollywood, Fla. resident led YU to a three-game winning streak. In the win against Vaughn last Monday, Goldis went 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, a stolen base, and two walks. One of his hits was a two-run double and he also stole home. In game one against Valley Forge this past Wednesday, Goldis went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a run batted in, and stole two bases to propel Yeshiva to a sweep. The senior also went 2-for-3 in game two at Farmingdale State, on Friday.
Hiller had a productive week of her own. The Fair Lawn resident produced a .389 batting average, scoring four runs and driving in three. Hiller produced an RBI single in game two at Farmingdale State, last Monday. She went 2-for-4 with a run scored in game one at Brooklyn College, the next night. The catcher produced a two-run double in game one at Purchase College, this past Friday.
