Male Student-Athlete of the Month - November 2016

Judah Cohen is off to a great start with the men's basketball team. He has been inducted into the Skyline Conference Honor Roll in each of the first five weeks of the season. What is your career ambition?

I want to be a Rabbi and teach- go into the field of chinuch.

What is your favorite thing about Yeshiva University?


Having the ability, on a daily basis, to go speak to the amazing Rabbeim and Talmidei Chachamim on staff.

about being a student-athlete at Yeshiva University?
Being surrounded by Jews wherever I am on campus.

What was your greatest
memory as a Yeshiva student-athlete?

During my rookie season, we hosted our first playoff game, and when coming out of that locker room for warm-ups, hearing and seeing all of those/our fans was breathtaking and put a huge smile on my face.
 

Who was the most influential
person to you as a child?

My Abba (Dad). He would always say to me, “Whatever you do in life, make sure you do it with all your strength and power.”

Growing up what teacher in school do you remember to have the biggest influence on you? 
 One of my High School Rebbeim, Rabbi Joshua Wald.

What is your favorite food?


Pizza
 

What is your favorite movie?

I don't watch movies. 
If you can have dinner with any celebrity,
who would you choose?

If Rabbi’s count as celebrities, it would be Rav Yitzchak Yosef. If it needs to be an actor, it would probably be Adam Sandler. Professional Athlete would be Omri Caspi.
 

What is your favorite hobby
(besides the sport you play)?

Preparing chaburahs/Torah lessons in order to teach teens.
 

Favorite sport to play (besides your sport)?

Flag Football
What is your favorite sports team?

The Brooklyn Nets. I am from Jersey so I have be a fan since I could remember.

  
What would people you know now find surprising about you when you were younger? I have been wearing a black hat since my Bar-Mitzvah.
