Male Student-Athlete of the Month - May 2016 - Yeshiva University Athletics

Junior David Papis Elon has had an incredible season for the men's tennis team. He led his team to its third straight Skyline Conference championship and an automatic bid into the NCAA posteason tournament. He was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season and earned the Most Outstanding Player award at the Skyline Conference Championships.

What is your career ambition?	I would like to enter the consulting business, hopefully become a management consulting working for BCG or Deloitte.
What is your favorite thing about Yeshiva University?	I love the diversity in this school, we have so many different people with different backgrounds, ambitions, and different religious perspectives. It is so fun to just talk to people in the library and to hear about everyone’s background.
What Yeshiva University class have you found most beneficial?	I would say that the stuff I learned in Intermediate Macro would might be useful in my future.
What was your greatest memory as a Yeshiva student-athlete?	Winning the first NCAA tournament match in our school's history and advancing into the second round.
Who was the most influential person to you as a child?	My mom, who pretty much raised me by herself and taught me everything I know today.
What is your favorite food?	I think it has to be either a steak or spaghetti bolognaise.
What is your favorite movie?	The Dark Knight
If you can have dinner with any celebrity, who would you choose?	Santa Claus
What is your favorite hobby (besides the sport you play)?	I’m an absolute basketball fanatic. If I'm not playing basketball on my free time, then I either watch nba or play 2K.
Favorite sport to play (besides your sport)?	Basketball
What is your favorite sports team?	Kings and Barcelona (“soccer”)
What would people you know now find surprising about you when you were younger?	That I was extremely quiet and shy
