Women’s Soccer Struggles Against Sage; Fall 8-0 on Rain Soaked Morning

Odelia Rosenberg Stopped 8 Shots

NEW YORK, NY – The Yeshiva women's soccer team lost a home conference match against Sage College 8-0 on a cold, rainy Sunday morning.  Down by only 2 at the half, the Maccabees kept it close in the first few minutes of the second half, but ultimately gave in to the Sage offensive pressure.  The Maccabees dropped to 1-7 on the season.

Rochelle Friedman took the lone Yeshiva shot on goal, a shot that nearly skipped past the goalkeeper.  A diving save by Sage prevented the goal and gave the Gators a shutout win.  Odelia Rosenberg made 8 saves in goal for the Maccabees, improving her save percentage to .624.

The women's soccer team will return to action on Tuesday, when they play host to the College of Saint Elizabeth.  The game is slated to start at 8:00 p.m.
