(Yonkers, NY) – Junior Tamar Kram (Newton, MA/Maimonides) made a school-record 32 saves as the Yeshiva University defense held off a fierce Farmingdale State attack for more than 30 minutes, but ultimately fell 12-0 to the Rams during Yeshiva's 2008 season-opener on Sunday night at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, New York. With the loss, YU is 0-1 overall and 0-1 in Skyline Conference play.
It was all Farmingdale from the start as the visiting Rams (2-2, 1-0 Skyline Conference) peppered Kram with shots from the opening whistle. However, the Yeshiva defense held strong for much of the first half as Farmingdale scored at 15:08 to make it 1-0, but then did not score again until 30:33. However, from there, the floodgates opened as Farmingdale scored three times during the final 12 minutes of the first half, and then scored only 17 seconds into the second half to extend the lead to 5-0. The Rams would tally eight goals during the second half of play for the 12-0 final.
Farmingdale outshot Yeshiva 79-1, and had 10 corner kicks compared to zero for Yeshiva.
Yeshiva returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 9 when they host Mount Saint Vincent at 8:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, NY.
