Old Westbury blanks Yeshiva 5-0 in Women's Soccer

(New York, NY) – Junior Tamar Kram (Newton, MA/Maimonides) has 12 saves, and the YU defense allowed only one goal during the game's first 60 minutes, but the Yeshiva University Women's Soccer team suffered its third straight loss to start the season, 5-0 to Old Westbury on Thursday night at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, New York. With the loss, the Maccabees are now 0-3 overall and 0-3 in Skyline Conference play.

Yeshiva enjoyed an outstanding defensive effort during the first half, allowing only one Old Westbury goal despite being outshot 18-2, as Kram stopped eight out of nine shots on goal. However, as Old Westbury retained possession, the Maccabee defense tired, and the Panthers finally took advantage late in the game as Old Westbury scored two goals during a seven-minute span midway through the half to make it 3-0, and then two Panther goals during a 1:44 span late in the game gave the visiting team the 5-0 final.

Old Westbury outshot Yeshiva 31-4 and had nine corner kicks, compared to Yeshiva's single corner kick.

Aside from another outstanding effort from Kram, sophomore Noelle Forde (Houston, TX/Emery) had a fine night, taking two shots and providing an offensive spark for the Maccabees.

Up next for Yeshiva is a trip to the Sage Colleges for a 1:00 p.m. Skyline Conference game on Sunday, Sept. 14.
