(New York, NY) - Senior Aviva Miller (Teaneck, NJ/Frisch) had a team-high seven digs, and junior Abigail Smolensky (Houston, TX/Beren Academy) enjoyed an outstanding offensive performance but the Yeshiva University Women's Volleyball team fell 3-0 to Manhattanville College on Thursday night at Hunter College. With their second consecutive loss, the Maccabees are now 1-5.
Manhattanville swept the match, 25-12, 25-14, 25-9 despite a solid defensive night for Yeshiva that included an outstanding effort to return serves and seven total digs.
The Maccabees enjoyed an excellent match at the service line as junior Shira Apfel (West Hempstead, NY/WUHS) and senior Adira Katlowitz (Brooklyn, NY/Yeshiva Flatbush) had two service aces apiece. Smolensky led the Maccabees with two kills.
Yeshiva returns to action on Sunday, Sept 14 when they travel to the College of Staten Island for a 12:00 p.m. match.
