NEW YORK, NY – The Men's and Women's Cross Country team participated in the Baruch Invitational held at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday morning. Each team competed against 14 other Colleges, and the men finished in 5th while the women ended in 11th.
Leading the Yeshiva men in the 8K run was Chaim Goldfeiz (Baltimore, MD/Talmudical Academy) with a time of 32:54, good for 11th overall. David Sweet (Chicago, IL/Fasman Yeshiva) placed 15th overall with a time of 33:27, followed by Aryeh Shapiro (Los Angeles, CA/YULA) in 20th (33:50), Joel Dvorim (Chicago, IL/Fasman Yeshiva) in 48th (37:32), and Yehuda Prero (Chicago, IL/Skokie Yeshiva) in 51st (38:15).
In the women's 6K run, Simi Lampert finished 47th in 35:35 to lead the Maccabees. Sara Hinden (West Orange, NJ/Ma'ayanot Yeshiva) followed in 52nd place with a time of 36:57. The final three scorers were Bassy Klyman (Teaneck, NJ/Manhattan) in 54th (37:22), Jenny Kraut (Baltimore, MD/Yeshiva Rambam) in 57th (38:44), and Aviva Bloom (Newton, MA/Maimonides) in 58th (39:06).
Both teams will compete again on October 18th in the Hunter College Invitational, held again at Van Cortlandt Park.
