NEW YORK, NY – The women's volleyball team picked up their first Skyline Conference victory Sunday against Maritime College 3-2. The teams met at SUNY Maritime in a conference tri-match with Purchase. The Macs fell to Purchase 3-0 making their overall record 2-5, 1-4 on the season.

The Macs faced Maritime in the second match of the afternoon, and took the first game 25-23. Maritime stormed back and took the next two games 25-20 and 25-20 to force Yeshiva to have to come from behind. The Maccabees did just that and took games 4 and 5 by scores of 25-22 and 15-9.

Dena Shayne led the Macs with 15 points and a team high 12 kills. She also recorded 3 aces and 17 digs in the match. Rena Rotter followed with 12 points and 11 kills, along with one solo blocked shot and 27 digs. Sarit Zukowsky led the team with 31 digs and 4 service aces. Littal Kravetz had 6 points on 5 kills and an ace. Seven of the eight players to see action scored at least 3 points in Yeshiva's victory.

In game 1 against Purchase, the Maccabees fell 12-25, 14-25, 12-25. Rena Rotter had 7 points and Littal Kravetz had 3. Rotter led with 6 kills and Dena Shayne had the 2 service aces. Moriah Green had a team high 11 digs in the match.

The Maccabees have another conference match on Tuesday, this time a home game against Mount Saint Mary. The match will be held at Hunter College with an 8PM start time.
