NEW YORK, NY – The final game of the HVWAC regular season pitted Pratt Institute against Yeshiva, with the 3
rd through 5
th seed in the upcoming tournament at stake. Yeshiva found themselves up 2 games to 1, but could not close out Pratt, eventually falling 3-2 (18-25, 25-16, 25-21, 17-25, 8-15). The Macs finish the HVWAC season at 1-4 and earned the 5
th seed, playing #4 New Rochelle Saturday night.
Leading the way for Yeshiva was
Sarit Zukowsky with 10 points, coming on 8 kills and 2 aces. She also recorded 16 digs in the contest.
Shira Genauer led the team with 18 digs, and also with 5 service aces.
Kaitlyn Respler had 4.5 blocked shots, while
Kerrin Ast had 2 of her own.
With the loss, the Macs fell to 1-4 in conference play and are seeded 5
th in the upcoming tournament. The quarterfinals will be held Saturday night at 830PM at Sarah Lawrence College. The Macs will square off with New Rochelle in the nightcap, while #3 Pratt will play #6 Sarah Lawrence in game 1. The game 1 winner will move on to play 2
nd seeded St. Joseph's, while the winner of Yeshiva/New Rochelle will play top seeded Culinary. Those games will be played at 3PM at New Rochelle, with the finals set for 5PM.
Before the game against Pratt, 5 seniors were recognized for their contributions to the program.
