EW YORK, NY – The women's soccer team had their season's first win in sight, but were unable to close the door on York, falling 2-1 Tuesday evening. The Macs stand at 0-6-1 on the season.
After giving up the first goal to York early on, the defense for Yeshiva clamped down and kept York from scoring again in the first half. Down 1-0, Yeshiva came out of the half and scored less than 10 minutes in, as
Ariel Freda notched her team-leading third goal of the season. Unfortunately, only 2 minutes later York scored again, which ultimately proved to be the game winner.
Eli Goldenberg was in goal for the Macs, making 4 saves in all 90 minutes.
Rochelle Friedman led the team with 6 shots while
Meira Lerner recorded 2 of her own.
The ladies will be back in action on Sunday the 25
th, playing host to SUNY ESF at 1PM. The game will be played at Purchase College.
