Box Score

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The Yeshiva women's soccer team lost a 1-0 heartbreaker in double overtime to York College on a chilly Thursday evening at Aviator Field.

The lone goal of the game, the golden goal, came eight seconds into the one hundred seventh minute when York's Jessica Cornejo scored. The goal came off a corner kick set up by Estefany Delgado.

It was the first time this season Yeshiva women's soccer went into overtime.

After a scoreless tie in regulation, the Maccabees had matched strides with the host Cardinals all night. Yeshiva held a 13-11 advantage on shots in the first two halves, including a 9-5 edge in the second half. York held an overall advantage on shots for the contest 17-14, including 5-1 in the first overtime.

Sara Shamir had a team-high four shots for Yeshiva, while Merav Sadan Barach and Shlomit Braun had three each.

Annie Jaffe made seven saves in net for the Maccabees.

Yeshiva returns to action for another contest at Aviator Field when they play at NYU Poly on Monday at 8 p.m.
