Men's Soccer Stays Alive in Playoff Quest with Win over Sarah Lawrence

TEANECK, N.J.— The Yeshiva men's soccer team kept its Skyline Conference playoff hopes alive on Thursday  evening with a solid 4-2 win over Sarah Lawrence College at Fairleigh Dickinson University Field.
 
The win improves the Maccabees to 2-4-1 in Skyline Conference play, while snapping a four game losing streak against Skyline teams. Yeshiva improved to 8-5-1 overall. Sarah Lawrence College falls to 2-13-0 overall and 0-8-0 in the Skyline Conference.
 
Yeshiva got on the board quickly, taking a 1-0 lead 2:37 into the contest on a goal by Itamar Ben David, with assists coming from Aaron Braun and Joshua Cohen. The Maccabees then went ahead by two at 15:37 when Braun netted a goal. The assist came from Ben David, who had three assists in the contest.
 
Sarah Lawrence got a goal at the 23:51 mark off a point blank shot from the near side of the field by Ishaan Pujari to make the score 2-1.
 
Yeshiva retook a two goal lead minutes later on a goal by Adir Alon at 27:54, before Braun scored his second goal of the game at 30:24 to put the Maccabees ahead 4-1.
 
The lone goal of the second half was scored by the visiting Gryphons when Finn MacMillian took a pass from Varun Kelkar and scored from point blank range with just under eighteen minutes to go.
 
Yeshiva outshot Sarah Lawrence 18-7. Ben David led all players with six shots.
 
Maor Feinstein started in net and played the first half before giving way to Moishi Eisenmann who made four saves in the second half.
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Sunday evening for a Skyline Conference tilt against Mt. St, Mary's College at Overpeck Park in Ridgewood, N.J. at 7:45 p.m.
