Women's Volleyball Closes Out 2014 with a Pair of Wins over Skyline Foes Sarah Lawrence and Purchase

PURCHASE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team closed out its 2014 season with a pair of wins as the Maccabees beat Sarah Lawrence College in five sets (21-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13) before downing Purchase College in four sets (25-22, 15-25, 25-19, 25-21).
 
Yeshiva closes out the season by winning three of its final four matches of the season to end 2014 with a 3-16 overall record and a 3-6 record in the Skyline for a seventh place finish in the conference standings.
 
In the win over Sarah Lawrence, the first five set match of the season for the Maccabees, Emily Rohan led the team with 15 kills (three errors) on 23 attacks for a .522 attack percentage, with nine assists, 15 digs and three service aces, while Aliza Muller had five kills, 11 assists and two service aces. Carol Jacobson and Marissa Almoslino had four kills and 16 digs each.
 
Against Purchase, Rohan had 13 kills, 13 assists, five service aces and 10 digs, while Almoslino added seven kills (no errors) on 12 attacks for a .583 attack percentage, along with 18 digs. Muller had eight kills (one error) on 12 attacks for a .583 percentage with eight assists and five service aces, while Gabi Katz had three kills and five service aces.
