NEW YORK, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team was defeated in its season opener against CCNY on Tuesday evening losing 3-0 (7-25, 17-25, 4-25) at Nat Holman Gymnasium.
 
Yeshiva (0-1) had nine kills in the three sets and had two each by Emily Rohan, Marissa Almoslino and Shaina Hourizadeh.
 
CCNY (1-3) was led by Saye-Chanti Joseph with eight kills (one error) on 11 attacks for a .636 attack percentage. The host Beavers slammed 26 service aces and were led by Kathlen Dos Santos with eight and Leticia Marotti with six.
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Thursday for a match against the College of  Staten Island at 8 p.m. at the ARC Arena on the campus of Baruch College.
