RESULTSRIVERDALE, N.Y.--For the second time in as many weeks, the Yeshiva University women's cross country team came away victorious at an invitational as the Maccabees finished in first place out of seven scoring teams at the York College Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday morning.
Yeshiva earned a score of 53 at the invitational to finish in first place. Essex Community College was second of seven schools with 67 points, while the New School finished third with 81 points. Baruch College was fourth with 88 points, followed by York College in fifth with 93 points. Queensborough Community College was sixth with 124 points, followed by St. Joseph's-Brooklyn with 177 points. Other schools represented at the invitational included runners from Cooper Union, Kingsborough Community College and Medgar Evers College.
For Yeshiva,
Stephanie Greenberg finished second overall of 54 runners. For the third time in as many races this season she has finished in the top two (she won the Queensborough Community College Invitational on Sept. 14 and was second at the Baruch Invitational on Sept. 7). Today she blazed the six kilometer course in 25:40. Meanwhile, teammate
Lyndsey Pere was second on Yeshiva and was eighth overall in 27:52.
Laurel Aaronson finished third for Yeshiva and was eleventh overall in 28:53.
Shoshana Mond was Yeshiva's fourth finisher and was fifteenth overall in 29:48.
Rebecca van Bemmelen rounded out the top five for the Maccabees, while finishing in eighteenth place overall in 30:49. Teammate
Sarah Lazarus finished right behind van Bemmelen in nineteenth place in 30:50.
Devorah Natelson finished twentieth overall in 30:57.
Yeshiva's next race is Sunday October 12 at the CCNY Collegiate Classic at 10 a.m
