Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva women's soccer team was defeated by Fisher College 8-1 in a contest at Purchase College Soccer Field on Friday afternoon.
The host Maccabees fell behind 5-0 before halftime, and the visiting Falcons, by scoring the first goal of the second half, led 6-0 early in the final stanza. Yeshiva got on the board with a goal in the fifty-second minute by
Jennifer Shamsian to make the score 6-1.
Fisher scored two goals in the latter stages of the second half to extend the lead to 8-1 before the final horn sounded. Fisher's Alicia Alex and Julia Schojan both netted hat tricks by scoring three goals each. Both also had one assist each in the contest.
Fisher held a 24-8 advantage in shots and was led by Schojan with seven. Shamsian and
Merav Saden Barach had two shots each for the Maccabees.
Rita Gordon started in net and made seven saves, while Saden Barach played goalkeeper in the second half and made four saves.
Yeshiva is back in action on Monday for a home game against Sarah Lawrence College at FDU Soccer Field in Teaneck, N.J. at 8 p.m.
