UNION, N.J.— The Yeshiva men's volleyball team opened its 2015 Skyline Conference schedule with a pair of losses as the Maccabees were 3-0 by Ramapo College (12-25, 21-25, 10-25) and 3-0 by defending conference champion, and currently No. 2 nationally ranked, Kean University (9-25, 15-25, 17-25).
The losses leave the Maccabees at 1-4 overall this season and 0-2 in Skyline Conference play.
In the loss against Ramapo (4-7, 1-1 Skyline), Yeshiva was led by
Joseph Lipton with three kills, while
Tuvia Marks added two kills.
Joseph Benichou added six digs and one block, while
Jorge Dabah had five assists and one service ace.
Against Kean (12-0, 2-0 Skyline),
Kolya Miller led the way with four kills and five digs, while Dabah, Lipton, Marks and
Eliakim Gartenberg had two kills each. Lipton also contributed five digs and two blocks, while Dabah had nine assists.
Yeshiva returns to action on Tuesday for a match at Bard College at 8 p.m.
