Box Score 2 KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team concluded the season with a pair of losses at the Skyline Tri-Match, on the campus of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, on Sunday afternoon. The Maccabees fell to the host Mariners and the Knights of Mount Saint Mary in straight sets.
In the opening match against USMMA, set scores were 25-4, 25-6, and 25-7. Junior outside hitter
Emily Neckonoff led the Maccabees offensively and defensively with three kills and seven digs. Senior libero
Shaina Hourizadeh recorded six digs, while junior opposite hitter
Dalia Sieger had four of her own.
In the match against Mount Saint Mary, set scores were 25-9, 25-13, and 25-14. Sophomore middle blocker
Sarah Rowan slammed home seven kills and scored two service aces, while senior middle blocker
Gavriela Colton had two blocks and scored an ace. Hourizadeh had a match-high 17 digs, while Sieger and Neckonoff helped anchor the defense with eight and six digs respectively.
The women's volleyball team will be back in action in 2017.
