MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's soccer team suffered a non-conference loss to Montclair State, 7-1, out in New Jersey on Monday evening.
The Red Hawks (8-3-1) scored three goals in the opening half, and added four more in the final 45 minutes, to clinch the win.
Yeshiva's (3-6) lone goal came in the 17
th minute, as junior midfielder
Dan Cohen converted on a free kick from the right corner, to narrow Montclair State's lead to 3-1. However, it would not be enough as Montclair State went on to win the match, 7-1.
For the contest, the Red Hawks had the edge in shots, 27-4, and took all eight corner kicks in the match. Sophomore goalkeeper
Max Goldstein made five saves.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Tuesday, for a non-conference match against Vaughn College, at Randall's Island Field 10. The contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
