THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team dropped its Skyline Conference match to Maritime College, in straight sets, at Riesenberg Gymnasium on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-6, 25-8, and 25-7.
The Privateers (5-2, 1-0 Skyline) led from wire-to-wire in each game.
Leading the way for the Maccabees (1-5, 1-4 Skyline) was senior outside hitter
Dalia Sieger who reached double-figures in digs for the third straight match, with 12 tonight. Classmate
Yael Ghelman had a team-high five assists with four digs. Senior setter
Esther Alexander slammed home three kills and had just as many digs. Senior outside hitter
Batya Schreier had two kills, three digs, and scored a service ace, while junior middle blocker
Abigail Epstein had a kill of her own. Senior outside hitter
Emily Neckonoff produced three digs and an assist. Sieger and freshman right side hitter
Kayla Gross each added a kill.
The Maccabees will be back in action on Sunday for a non-conference match against Culinary Institute of America, at the ARC Arena, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
