PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The No. 4 Yeshiva University men's volleyball team concluded the 2018 season with a loss in the Skyline Conference Semifinal match to No. 1 St. Joseph's College Long Island, in straight sets at the Danzi Center, on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-9, 25-3, and 25-9.

The Golden Eagles (22-8) will play for the Skyline Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon against No. 2 Mount Saint Vincent, at the Danzi Center, beginning at 12:00 p.m. The Dolphins defeated the No. 3 Panthers of Purchase College, 3-0, in the other Skyline semi-final match on Thursday.

St. Joseph's Long Island led from wire-to-wire in all three sets.

First year opposite hitter Derek Orenshein slammed home two kills and chipped in on defense with three digs, for the Maccabees (4-16). Freshman outside hitter Jonathan Apsan and classmate Joseph Sulaymanov each registered a pair of kills, while freshman setter Isaac Pomerance had a team-high five assists to go along with two digs. Junior outside hitter Chaim Aryeh Rubin produced a team-high three digs, while classmate Amitai Miller produced a pair of digs of his own. Junior libero Gavriel Hizami slammed home a kill, while sophomore middle blocker Yosef Ajami had a dig.

Yeshiva will return to action in 2019.
