MAHWAH, N.J. – The Yeshiva University women's tennis team dropped a spring match to Ramapo College, 6-3, on the Ramapo Athletic Center Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon. The Maccabees drop to 10-3 overall, while the Roadrunners advance to 8-2.
Yeshiva was led by senior
Shani Hava and sophomore
Bailey Frohlich, who combined forces to win at #1 doubles, 8-4. Hava returned to claim the first singles flight, 6-1, 6-1. Frohlich earned a victory at the fourth singles position, 6-2, 6-4.
Senior
Rachel Slater won the first set at #2 singles, but ended up falling short in the 10-point tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4).
The reigning Skyline Conference champions will be competing in the NCAA Division III tournament, the first women's program to do so in school history. The Maccabees will find out their first round opponent when the NCAA releases its press release on its web-site on Monday, May 7, at 12:00 p.m.
