BRONX - The Yeshiva University men's golf team opened the 2019-20 season with a conference tri-meet, at the Pelham Bay Golf Course, on Friday afternoon. Yeshiva came in second place with a score of 327. Mount Saint Mary College finished first overall with 318, while the College at Old Westbury carded a 377. Sophomore Patrick Shea, of Mount Saint Mary, earned a first-place finish by generating a 76.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was first-year collegiate golfer
Amiel Kerstein, who scored a 78, which ranked him third overall among individual participants. Senior
Alex Malech had a solid afternoon, carding an 80, while second-year member
Jordan Soclof tallied an 83.
Juniors
Benjamin Pray (86) and
Gabriel Perl (90) also competed for the Maccabees.
Yeshiva will return to the Pelham Bay Golf Course on Sunday, with a Skyline dual-match against Purchase College. Tee-off is scheduled for 11:05 a.m.
