PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team suffered a Skyline Conference loss to St. Joseph's College Long Island, in straight sets, at the Danzi Center on Monday evening. Set scores were 25-5, 25-13, and 25-8.
The Golden Eagles (11-7, 1-1 Skyline) did not trail at any point in the match, outside of the opening point in the third set.
Leading the way for the Maccabees (2-8, 1-3 Skyline) was junior setter
Shimon Ohana, who anchored the defense with a co-match high nine digs. Sophomore middle blocker
Steven Zelmanovich tacked on a pair of kills with six digs. Junior opposite hitter
Derek Orenshein tallied three kills with eight digs, while senior middle blocker
Yosef Ajami chipped in with two kills and three digs. Junior outside hitter
Jonathan Apsan added six digs and a kill. Rounding it out for Yeshiva was sophomore setter
Benjamin Goldstein, who had a team-high six assists to go along with a pair of digs.
Yeshiva's Skyline road trip will continue on Wednesday, at Mount saint Vincent, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
