EDGEWATER, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought non-conference contest to Baruch College, 5-4, at the Binghamton Racquet Club on Tuesday evening. Baruch served as the home team for the contest.
The Maccabees (2-5) took two out of three doubles flights, but the Bearcats (2-1) went 4-2 in singles competition to earn the come-from-behind victory.

Benjamin Friedman teamed up to earn a tight No. 2 doubles win, 8-7 (2). A pair of freshman,
Anthony Lallouz and
Evan Sobolev, were victorious at No. 3 doubles by a narrow score of 8-7 (4).

Avidan Rudansky opened singles play by winning the third position, 6-2, 6-1, to give Yeshiva a 3-1 lead in the match. After Baruch won the next two flights to tie the contest, 3-3, Lallouz earned a victory at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-3, to give Yeshiva a 4-3 advantage.
After the Bearcats won at No. 1 singles, it came down to junior
Eitan Jeselsohn vs. freshman George Arteaga at No. 5 singles to determine which team would win the match. Jeselsohn dropped the first set, 6-2, but came back to win the second by a score of 6-4. However, Arteaga won the third-set tiebreaker, 1-0 (7), to clinch the team-victory for Baruch.
Yeshiva will host the College of Staten Island, on Sunday at the Binghamton Racquet Club, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
