NEW YORK – The students-athletes at Yeshiva University continue to perform well in their academics. All the Maccabees have combined to earn an average GPA of 3.58. The Macs not only succeed in game-time competition, but in the classroom as well.
"I am so proud each semester to celebrate the academic achievements of the outstanding young women and men who represent YU on the field of play," Yeshiva University Director of Athletics,
Joe Bednarsh said. "Despite all the challenges this year, our student-athletes once again showed their high academic achievements as well as their excellence as competitors."
The women's soccer team averaged an outstanding team GPA of 3.76. In fact, eight of YU's 15 varsity teams averaged at least a 3.60 GPA as a unit. Also, 13 of the 15 programs produced a mark of at least 3.50.Â
Yeshiva led the conference with 75 student-athletes earning a spot on the 2019 Skyline Fall Academic Honor Roll. Later in the year, 68 players were selected to the 2019-20 Skyline Winter and Spring Academic Honor Roll.
The women's and men's tennis teams earned accolades from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). A total of 14 tennis student-athletes, nine on the men's team and five on the women's side, were named ITA scholar-athletes. The two programs were once again recognized by the ITA as All-Academic Teams.
