NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's soccer team suffered a hard-fought Skyline Conference loss to Mount Saint Mary College, 1-0, at Kaplan Field on Sunday afternoon.
Yeshiva (1-3-0, 1-2-0 Skyline) outshot Mount Saint Mary (5-5-1, 4-1-1 Skyline), 13-10, and had a slight edge in corner kicks (5-4) but could not find the back of the net.
The lone goal of the contest came in the 33
rd minute as junior forward Connor Doyle took a feed from senior defender Joseph Mesoraca and buried the ball into the back of the cage for his 10
th tally of the season.
In the middle of the second half, YU generated three shots on goal in a span of 6:12, but they were all stopped by junior goalkeeper Zach Decker.
The Maccabees had an opportunity to tie it late in the match, but junior forward
Ethan Fettaya's shot went just wide with 11:05 remaining in regulation time. The Knights were able to hang on and win the conference battle, 1-0.

Sagi Badash made two saves for YU. Decker stopped all six shots on target he faced to earn the shutout victory for Mount Saint Mary.
Yeshiva will host Purchase College, at Votee Park, on Thursday evening. The Skyline contest is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
