WEST HARRISON, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University men's soccer team fell in its regular season finale to St. Joseph's College Long Island, 4-1, at Passidomo Park on Friday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles (5-8-1, 4-6-1 Skyline) scored the first four goals of the contest. Yeshiva (5-7-0, 5-6-0 Skyline) got on the board with less than two minutes remaining in regulation time when
Alejandro Saul took a feed from
Rafael Cohen and rifled the ball into the back of the net for his second tally of the season. It would not be enough as Yeshiva dropped the league match, 4-1.
In net,
Nicolas Dlugach made seven saves in relief for the Maccabees. His counterpart, Tyler Flaherty, made three saves to earn a shared shutout victory.
Vincent Mariani tallied two goals, while James Dacos had two assists, for St. Joseph's Long Island.
The Golden Eagles had the advantage in shots (15-8) and corner kicks (6-3).
No. 6 Yeshiva will battle No. 3 Farmingdale State College, in the first round of the Skyline Conference Championships, on Sunday afternoon.
