EDGEWATER, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's soccer team earned a victory in its friendly over Sarah Lawrence College, 6-0, at Veterans Field Park on Monday evening. YU scored two goals in the opening half, and then added four more during the final 45 minutes of the match.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was sophomore forward
Ethan Fettaya, who tallied a pair of goals and added three assists. Freshman defender
Asher Martin, first-year defenseman
Yonatan Reiter, rookie forward
Rafael Cohen, and junior forward
David Shrem also found the back of the net for the Maccabees. Cohen added an assist, while freshman defender
Alan Perl produced two helpers of his own. Graduating senior
Isaac Bendahan also added to the scoring with an assist.
In net, graduating senior
Joshua Lieman concluded his collegiate soccer career by stopping all five shots on goal he faced to earn the shutout victory.
Yeshiva outshot Sarah Lawrence, 27-8, and had the edge in corner kicks, 4-2.
"The team put in a great performance tonight," Yeshiva University Head Coach
J.J. Davidson said. "But this performance reflected the hard work the boys have been putting in off the field for a year. I was so proud of the players and happy for these student-athletes who finally got a chance to be back on the field again. Most importantly, my heart was filled with joy for the seniors who got to put on the YU jersey for one last game."
Congratulations to our graduating seniors, Bendahan, Lieman, and
Joseph Aron. Thank you for all you have done for the program and best of luck moving forward.
The Yeshiva University men's soccer team will return to action in September of 2021.
