OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University women's cross country team concluded the 2022 season strong by earning a victory over York College (N.Y.), 40-46, at the SUNY Old Westbury Invitational on Friday morning. The Maccabees lost to the host-Panthers, 34-40, in the other dual meet. The 4k event took place on the SUNY Old Westbury campus.
Junior
Danielle Hornstein earned first place by completing the race in 19:18. Hornstein finished 1:14 ahead of the second-place finisher.
Rookie
Shayna Orlow earned bronze, as she crossed the finish line at the 20:35 mark to help lead YU to a dual-meet victory over York. Senior
Hilda Roffe rounded out the top ten with a time of 23:39.
Sophomore
Nancy Alexander came in 12
th place (23:54), while classmate
Naomi Klinghoffer was the 14
th runner to cross the finish line (29:26).
"I'm really proud of the way they finished off the season," Yeshiva University Assistant Coach
Sarah Hiller said. "All of the hard work and training these past few months culminated in a really strong race with some personal bests. Congratulations to them all on a great season!"
The Yeshiva University women's cross country team will return to the course in 2023.
