NEW YORK – The Yeshiva University men's basketball team will compete in the Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational, on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University, this weekend. The Maccabees will battle the national ranked No. 21 Titans of Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. eastern time/8:00 p.m. central time, at Shirk Center.
On Sunday, Yeshiva will play in either the championship game at 3:00 p.m central. or the consolation contest at 1:00 p.m. local time in the same gym. YU's opponent that day will either be University of Wisconsin Stevens Point or Webster University. Those two teams will play each other in the other first-round matchup of the Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. central time.

This will be the second meeting all time between Yeshiva and Illinois Wesleyan. These two programs met last season, on December 30, in a battle of the top four teams in the country. The No. 4 Titans snapped the No. 1 Maccabees' 50-game winning streak by earning a 73-59 victory at Max Stern Athletic Center.
Last year. Yeshiva won its second consecutive Skyline Conference Championship. Illinois Wesleyan made it all the way to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Yeshiva dropped its 2022-23 season opener to No. 13 University of Saint Joseph, 69-60, this past Wednesday evening at O'Connell Center. Freshman
Zevi Samet had a strong collegiate debut for the Maccabees by scoring 17 points, including five 3-point baskets, and grabbing five rebounds. Fellow rookie
Daniel Margusov scored 16 points and brought down six boards off the bench.
Saturday night's matchup will be the regular-season opener for Illinois Wesleyan.
Out of 17 players on the Macs' roster, 10 of them are rookies. The Titans will also have a young team this year as 15 of their 22 players are underclassman. Illinois Wesleyan only has two seniors, including lone returning starter from last year, Cody Mitchell.
