NEW YORK – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team dropped its Skyline Conference matchup to first-place Mount Saint Mary College, 94-47, at Peter Jay Sharp Center on Thursday evening. YU drops to 7-14 overall and 5-14 in Skyline play. Mount Saint Mary advances to 20-3 for the season and 18-1 against league competition.

For the Maccabees, junior
Daniella Rothman had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds, while blocking three shots. Sophomore
Daniella Bessler tallied 14 points, snatched five boards, and distributed three assists. Sophomore
Shai Rahamim netted eight points and dished out two assists, while junior
Yuval Nitzan produced seven points, grabbed four rebounds, and had a pair of assists.
Yeshiva got off to a strong start, as a 3-point field goal by Rahamim put the Macs in front, 9-8, with 6:38 left to go in the opening stanza. The Knights scored the next five points to jump out ahead. Nitzan converted a free throw in the final second to narrow YU's deficit to 13-10, and that would be the score after 10 minutes of play.
The Knights completely took over the game in the second quarter, as they outscored the Maccabees by a 33-5 margin to take a commanding lead into the half. Yeshiva could not get back into the game during the second half as Mount Saint Mary went on to earn the Skyline victory and remain in first place in the standings.
For the Maccabees, junior
Renee Benjamini had six points, two rebounds, and just as many steals. Junior
Yael Dannenbaum had two points and a rebound, while Kazlow grabbed two boards and dished out an assist. Sophomore
Kira Elbaum provided an assist.
For the Knights, graduate student Morina Bojka scored a game-high 17 points. Senior Julia Lavin and sophomore Kate Hughes each scored 13 points.
Yeshiva will conclude the Skyline portion of its schedule with a home game against St. Joseph's College Long Island on Saturday night. Tipoff at Riesenberg Gymnasium is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
