PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team dropped its Skyline Conference match to St. Joseph's College Long Island, in straight sets, at the Danzi Center on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-4, 25-11, and 25-9.
The Maccabees (2-4, 1-3 Skyline) had brief early leads in the second and third sets, but the Golden Eagles (13-3, 3-0 Skyline) made big runs in each game to earn the conference victory.
Leading the way for Yeshiva was senior 
Alon Jakubowitz who slammed home three kills and had two blocks. Classmate 
Benjamin Goldstein tallied four assists, scored an ace, and produced a pair of digs. First-year player 
Avi Braun anchored the defense with four digs, while senior 
Amitai Kolom had a kill and two digs. Junior 
Shmuel Aberman generated a kill, an assist, and a dig. Seniors 
Michael Stark and 
Benjamin Smillie each recorded a dig of their own.
For St. Joseph's College Long Island, sophomore Mark Williams produced 10 kills and four service aces. Graduate student Paul Curaro slammed home eight kills and notched seven service aces.
Yeshiva will return to the friendly confines of Max Stern Athletic Center, on Monday evening, for a Skyline doubleheader against St. Joseph's College Brooklyn. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
