RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team earned a convincing victory over Western Connecticut State, 9-0, at the Club of Riverdale on Wednesday evening. It's an impressive victory for the Maccabees (2-1) since WestConn (0-5) is the defending Little East Champions and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament last season.
"I'm very happy with this win," Yeshiva University Head Coach
Jon Rubinstein said. "It's been quite a while since our last match. We have been off with the holidays but the guys didn't flinch and played as if they were already in midseason form."

Anthony Lallouz and
Eitan Jeselsohn teamed up to win their No. 1 doubles matchup, 8-4. Graduate student
Tomer Mendler and rookie
Akiva Ackerman won every game at the second doubles position. Sophomore
Joseph Abrahams and freshman
Sion Jacobo dominated at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Mendler came back to win at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Lallouz was victorious at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-3. Jeselsohn won at No. 3 singles by identical scores of 6-1. Ackerman won every game in both sets at No. 4 singles. Jacobo claimed the fifth singles flight, 6-0, 6-1. Senior
Michael Froehlich won at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-0.
"Great win over a team that went to the NCAA Tournament last year," Rubinstein said.
Yeshiva will compete against Drew University, at Ranger Stadium, on Sunday. First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
