NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University baseball team concluded the Skyline portion of its schedule by dropping two games to Mount Saint Mary College (N.Y.), 12-0 and 11-0, at the Mount Saint Mary College Baseball Complex, on Sunday afternoon.
The Maccabees (2-25, 0-19 Skyline) held the Knights (16-17, 11-9 Skyline) to just two runs during the first three innings. However, Mount Saint Mary scored four runs in the fourth, and then tacked on three runs each in the fifth and sixth innings, to blow the game open.
For the Maccabees in game one, senior
David Kreisberg went 2-for-3, while sophomore
Joshua Mintz, senior
SJ Tannenbaum, and classmate
Jacob Schwartzman each drilled a single.
Freshman Brian Gregory earned a complete-game victory for the Knights in game one, fanning seven YU batters in the process.
In game two, Mount Saint Mary scored two runs in each of the first three innings and never looked back. Senior
Justin Hanelin and junior
Eliyahu Solomon each reached base with a single for Yeshiva during the second end of the twin bill.
On the mound, senior Anthony Caminitti was credited with the win for the Knights.
Yeshiva will conclude the 2022 season with a non-conference doubleheader against Western Connecticut State, at Westside Baseball Field, next Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
