Women’s Volleyball Suffers Road Loss To Baruch

NEW YORK, NY - Playing in their home arena but as the away team, the Yeshiva women's volleyball team fell to Baruch college, losing to the Panthers by a score of 3-0 on Thursday, Nov. 2.

On the offensive end, the Maccabees were led by Talia Finn and Zoey Botnick, with Finn notching three kills while Botnick topped the team with five assists.

Defensively, Ashley Botnick had herself a day, tallying seven kills on the evening.

With the loss, the Macs are now 0-15.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Macs fell into a sizable hole to kick off the first set, allowing Baruch to score six straight points before getting on the board, and being held without a kill until the statline read 18-4. Despite a late 3-0 run, the Macs were unable to get a foothold in the set, ultimately dropping it, 25-8.

  • Starting off much stronger in the second set, Yeshiva fought back after falling behind 5-0, closing the gap to 7-6 thanks to kills from Estee Einhorn and Charne Lesnoy. However, that success would not last. The Macs would manage just one more kill and four more points, falling by a score of 25-10.

  • Down but certainly not out, the Macs opened up the third set going blow-for-blow with the Panthers, seeing the score tied multiple times and even taking their first lead of the match at 7-6. However, that success would not last. Yeshiva surrendered a 19-5 run, giving up not only the lead but the set, 25-12.
