Chana Fischer drew a walk, she sprinted to second during the next at bat. On the throw, Appel was able to steal home, while Fischer slid in safely to second with a stolen base of her own to increase the Macs' benefit to 2-0.
York countered with a run in the first, and then four in the second, to take a 5-2 lead.

In the top of the fourth, YU still trailed by two and had runners on second and third, with one out. Cagan struck again at the plate as she drilled a two-run single up the middle to tie the game at five. Senior center fielder
Esther Miller and rookie pitcher

Elisheva Miller both scored on an error in the outfield to even the game up at eight runs apiece.
Yeshiva trailed 10-8 in the top of the sixth, but Guritzky scored Yeshiva's ninth run courtesy of an RBI by
Elisheva Miller to pull the Blue and White to within a run. York added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 12-9 benefit after six innings of play.
YU had runners on first and second, one out, in the top of the seventh. Guritzky slapped a single up the middle to score Appel to pull YU to within two. A wild pitch in the next at bat put runners on second and third for the Macs. Senior third base player Danielle Hornstein took advantage by grounding the ball to short. That allowed Fischer to cross home plate and pull YU to within one, while Hornstein reached first safely.
After Elisheva Miller walked, the bases were loaded. Esther Miller earned a base on balls to drive in Guritzky which tied the game at 12. After York got the next out and the Macs then had bases loaded with two down. Leibowitz grinded out an infield single to score Hornstein to give the Maccabees a 13-12 advantage. Cagan gave YU more insurance by singling up the middle to score both Elisheva Miller and Esther Miller, the latter being able to score on a fielding error, which padded YU's lead to 15-12. That would be the score heading to the bottom of the seventh.
The Maccabees were three outs away from winning, but a two-run home run by sophomore infielder Nayelly Rosas pulled York to within one, with still nobody out. The Cardinals' momentum continued as they loaded the bases with nobody out. Sophomore catcher Andrea Wright scored the tying run on a fielder's choice. Two batters later, the bases were still loaded with one out. At the plate was senior infielder Shamonie Miller who was hit by a pitch which allowed rookie center fielder Madison Plaza to score the game-winning run and complete the come-from-behind walk off victory for York.
