FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team's incredible season ended on Thursday evening, as No. 3-seed YU fell to second-seeded Farmingdale State College, 5-0, at the Farmingdale State Tennis Courts. The Rams (13-3) will play top-seeded and defending league champion Manhattanville College Valiants (9-4), in the Skyline Championship match, on Friday afternoon.
In doubles play for Yeshiva (7-11), senior
Eitan Jeselsohn and rookie
Harry Radinsky won five games at No. 3 doubles. First-year player
Michael Natkin and graduate student
Eli Hanuka snatched a pair of games at the second doubles court.
In singles play, senior
Yoni Mayer won a game in the first set at No. 2 singles.
"While it was sad to see our season come to an end, I am so proud to see how these men competed this season," Yeshiva University Head Coach
Jon Rubinstein said. "To start out 0-8 and turn it around to make the semis of conference shows how hard these young men worked to get to where they are."
Yeshiva University's graduating players Jeselsohn, Mayer, and Hanuka competed for the final time of their collegiate careers.
"I'm going to miss my seniors Eitan, Yoni, and Eli," Rubinstein said. "They were great leaders and set the bar high on what it means to be a Mac!"
The Yeshiva University men's tennis team will return to the court in September of 2023.
