NEW YORK - Three Yeshiva University women's cross country runners, junior
Shayna Orlow, senior
Hilda Roffe, and junior
Danielle Hornstein, were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, on Wednesday afternoon. This prestigious program honors student-athletes who succeed both in athletics and in academics.

Orlow finished seventh overall in her collegiate cross country debut by completing the 5k race in 27:54 at the Mount Saint Mary College Dual Meet. The Jamaica Estates, N.Y. claimed bronze by running the 4k race in 20:35, and helped Yeshiva pick up a dual-meet win over York College N.Y., at the SUNY Old Westbury Invitational. The speech pathology major has an outstanding overall GPA of 4.00 and earned a spot on the Skyline Academic Honor Roll.
Roffe was named the team captain this year and landed on the All-Skyline Sportsmanship team. The Hewlett, N.Y. native competed in all five meets for Yeshiva this season. Roffe helped Yeshiva earn a victory over York College, at the SUNY Old Westbury Invitational, by finishing 10
th overall with a 4k time of 23:39. The pre-nursing major has an overall GPA of 3.82 and has appeared on the Skyline Academic Honor Roll twice.
Hornstein had a very successful senior campaign as she earned first place by completing the 4k race in 19:18, which propelled the Maccabees to the triumph over the Cardinals. The Hashmonaim, Israel native finished third overall by running the 5k race in 25:22 at the Mount Saint Mary College Dual Meet. The marketing/strategy and entrepreneurship major owns a cumulative GPA of 3.61 and has been on the Skyline Academic Honor Roll twice.
Thanks to earning a spot on the CSC Academic All-District team, Orlow, Roffe, and Hornstein are now eligible for Academic All-America. Voting will take place by College Sports Communicators throughout the country from May 31 until June 7. The CSC Academic All-America team will be announced on Wednesday, June 28.
