NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Taking on their final opponent of the 2024 season, the Yeshiva Women's Soccer Team took down Medgar Evers College, defeating the Cougars by a score of 10-1 on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Offensively, the Maccabees saw multiple goals out of five different players, with
Lauren Williams,
Maya Dennen,
Alexis Leibowitz,
Elza Koslowe and
Leeby Levine all finding the back of the net twice on the night.
Defensively, goalkeeper
Simone Amkraut and her unit had by far their best outing of the season, holding the Cougars to just one goal and four shots.
With the win, the Macs close out the season with an overall record of 1-14.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Maccabees dominated early on, scoring five times in just the first 12 minutes of play. Leeby Levine, Williams, Dennen and Leibowitz all found the back of the net, securing a 5-0 scoreline that would hold through the half.
- Goals from Koslowe and Denen stretched YU's lead out to 8-0 15 minutes into the second half. While a Medgar Evers score ruined the Maccabee clean sheet, YU recovered their footing with two late goals, closing out the game, 10-1.
