NEWBURGH, NY - Suffering their second consecutive road loss, the Yeshiva women's basketball team fell to Mount Saint Mary College, losing to the Knights by a score of 84-38 on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Offensively, the Maccabees saw two double-digit scorers, with
Shai Rahamim and
Jasmin Maly-Danker leading the way with 14 and 10 points respectively.
Proving a force in the paint,
Fortune Hanan had yet another excellent game on the defensive end of the ball, swatting two blocks while pulling down four rebounds on the night.
With the loss, the Macs are now 8-15, 6-12 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Macs struggled in the first quarter, scoring only two points off a layup from Abigail Koenig to MSM's 27.
- Yeshiva somewhat recovered in the second quarter, managing to stretch their point total into the double digits off of buckets from Rahamim, and Maly-Danker. When the halftime horn sounded, YU trailed 49-12.
- By far their best stretch of play all game, Yeshiva finally clicked in the third quarter, tallying 17 points while holding the Knights to just 19.
- Despite their efforts however, MSM's hold on the game proved insurmountable come the fourth quarter. The Macs' nine points in the final period were not nearly enough to catch the Knights, as YU fell by a score of 84-38.
