BRONX, NY - Finding the back of the net for the first time this season, the Yeshiva women's soccer team fell to Lehman College, losing to the Lightning by a score of 9-1 on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Offensively, the Maccabees were led by
Leeby Levine, with the senior accounting for Yeshiva's goal.
On the defensive side of the ball, keeper
Maayan Berkowitz once again stood strong in goal, notching 11 saves on the day.
With the loss, the Macs are now 0-4 on the season, 0-3 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yeshiva's offensive breakthrough came in the 69th minute of play. After the Macs drew a Lehman handball in the box, Levine perfectly executed the penalty kick, hammering it past the keeper for YU's first score of the season.
- Berkowitz also shone as a bright spot for YU, facing down 30 shots and tallying 11 saves.
