BRONX, NY - Taking the court for the first time this Fall of 2024 season, the Yeshiva Women's Tennis team took down Lehman College, defeating the Lightning by a score of 5-2 on Friday, Sept. 6.
Utilizing DI scoring methodology for the first time, in which the doubles matches award one overall point instead of the traditional three (one per match), the Macs rolled in doubles play, winning two of the three contests to go into singles up, 1-0.
Yeshiva continued that success in singles play, seeing wins in the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 seeded matches to take the contest, 5-2.
When asked about the win, Head Coach Ira Miller had to say, "a great way to start off the new season. Played strong doubles and closed out the singles matches."
With the win, the Macs are now 1-0 on the season.
